Online/Phone Visit Tips
To help you get the most out of your visit, we’ve provided the following guidelines for phone appointments.
1) Find an appropriate setting for your visit.
- We strongly encourage all of our Members to find a quiet, safe, and private setting (e.g., their office).
- During your visit, please refrain from engaging in any other activities such as texting, emailing, or conversing with others.
- If there are people who are within listening range of your device, or if you have a pet nearby, please make your provider aware.
2) What we expect from our Members: You should approach your visit as you would an in-person doctor’s visit, including:
- Online visits: Wear proper attire and conduct their appointments in an upright position (i.e., not lying down)
- Direct your full attention to the appointment and not engage in other tasks (such as cooking, walking around, or working).
- If you attend your visit under the influence of alcohol or other substances, your provider may end your session early.
3) For online visits: Double-check your tech.
- Crossover Health uses the Zoom platform (www.zoom.us). Zoom is a HIPAA-compliant (256-bit AES encryption), HD-quality application that is compatible with PC/Mac and iPhone/Android devices.
- In preparation for your virtual care appointment, we recommend that you test your device.
- If you don’t have Zoom installed, please download and install the Zoom application on your preferred device well before your meeting. Your preferred device should have a user-facing camera.
4) A note on privacy:
- Audio and/or video recording of your phone appointment is strictly prohibited.
